PVL: UPWVT falls to FEU in five sets

The Far Eastern University outlasted the University of the Philippines in five sets at their Premiere Volleyball League duel this afternoon.

The Tamaraws found their rhythm in the second, keeping it close all throughout. Both teams went back-and-forth with the smashes and traded leads. However, FEU had more fuel down the stretch to book the second set with a win, 25-23.

UP wrote a different story in the third set, dismantling the Tamaraws again. Taking cues from their powerful start, the Lady Maroons posted an 8-1 run late in the third. Layug continued her impressive performance, finishing with 16 points , while Nicole Magsarile helped seal another set, 15-25.

The rest of the match saw FEU finding more stable footing to lead by 5, 8-3, at the half-mark of the final set.

FEU continued its domination, leading by as much as 7 points, 11-4. Not letting up, the UPWVT put up a mini run of its own, but it was not enough to overtake the opponent.

As for UP, Molde and Layug had impressive outings with 20 and 16 points each. Rosie Rosier added 12, while Magsarile added 10.
