A day in the student-athlete life of Rem Cailing

I woke up at 7:16 for my 8:30 class. That was enough time to prepare myself. Since there was no volleyball training this morning, I had the luxury of a few extra hours of sleep. Medyo malaking bagay ung tulog. You really feel refreshed.

My classes ended at 10am. Pagkatapos umuwi ako sa dorm para makapagpahinga ng kahit sandali. I like to plan out the use of my time – study, rest – this way I can make sure to have enough energy for practice or games. Minsan, sabay-sabay kami ng mga teammates ko for lunch and today, doon kami – kung sino man walang pasok sa oras na ‘to – sa Balai. I really cherish these moments.

After lunch, nagpunta ako sa library kasama yung isang classmate ko para mag-review sa mid-term exam. Yung professor namin, na-send niya ung readings for review and since malapit lang ung library sa classroom namin, doon na lang ako nag-stay para aircon at early sa class!

Kaso nung pumunta kami sa classroom, na-inform kami na postponed yung mid-term exam namin. At least, nakapag-review na kami. So meron pang time to prepare.

I had one more class for the day from 2:30-4pm. Dala ko na ung training gear ko so diretso na ako sa gym pagkatapos ng klase. It’s all about time management and planning your day. Kailangan ko maayos yung flow ng araw. Para lang yang pag-set ng opensa namin – merong order.

4:30pm – it’s time for practice! Practice to hone our skills and strategize for the next game. Yung dinner namin dinadala na rin dito sa gym so magkakasama kaming lahat kumain. After training, uwi na agad sa dorm.

Basically, yan ang life ko – sleep, study, eat, train, repeat. Hahaha!
